9/3/2007 I was so depressed to find out I had the Alpha-1. We have over 55 noted cases in our family. We lose 5-8 members a year. We are on the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to the infusion meds. My daughter, 14, spent her summer on the couch, tired, weak, and in pain. After 4 hospitals, it was found she had encephalitis. meningitis, Epstein Barr and her liver enzymes were in the 800's at last check (8-22).  I am very scared for her.  She got hit the hardest with this. I am 36 and am ill too (but not in front of her or my son).

I just want to know where other "Alpha's" live. See if we can find a genetic link between us all some how. My family came out or Germany after HITLER killed most of us. My grandmother was a Crouser/Garrett and married a Cherokee named Jesse (my gramps).
