Alpha Angel

I live in Florida.

I am into Motherhood and Volunteerism.

My favorite color is all shades of Pink and Green together.

My favorite movie "I am Sam"

All music makes me happy.

I enjoy interior decorating.

I have a Yorkie named "Lizzie"

My favorite quote, "No one can make us feel inferior without our permission"

09/13/2003  My Alpha-1 story is a very common one. I was finally correctly diagnosed in 1996 because I had developed a life threatening blood clot in the left portal vein of my liver for no reason. My young doctor suggested a test for a RARE problem called Alpha-1, he thought there was some connection between liver and lung but wasn't sure. The rest is history.

I love life and hate this illness!! I went through a long period of denial. With God's help and that of Dr."Sandy" Sandhaus, Marta Strock and Nancye Buelow, I finally faced my issues with great determination and have been an advocate for the Alpha-1 community since about 1999.

I truly believe this illness has made me a better person in many ways. I really enjoy every day and every moment to the fullest.

I will do everything possible to help raise awareness and help the Alphas who are lonely, scared and confused.

I believe education is power and  that the way this illness affects our entire lives and the ones we love is the most difficult part to handle.

I help with a support group for Alphas in Florida and I think that support of one another is how we truly survive the really rough times.
