A

PA (left) and lateral (right) radiographs of a young woman with A1AD and the typical changes of severe obstructive lung disease. There is diminished vascularity (arterial deficiency pattern) along with flattened diaphragms and an increase in the AP dimensions of the chest.

X-ray of 37 y/o female with A1AD after an LVRS in which the lower left lung was removed due to severe lung disease (emphysema).

 PA and the latero-lateral chest X-ray examination: The diaphragm is in the lower position than usual, the ribs, are horizontal, the intercostal spaces are widened, and the tranparency of the lungs is increased. In the left upper lobe, a giant bulla can be seen (arrow), where the vascular shadows are missing.  The axis of the heart is steep.
